Owen Scott donate PPE to supermarket staff
Whilst on a visit to the supermarket, Scott Hufton noticed the staff had no protection (ppe) and would be serving hundreds, if not thousands of people a day.
"When I got home, he started to think about how he may help." He came up with the idea of making the PPE himself and did the necessary research to start cutting and making face masks, compared to his normal business of making suits.
"I thought this has to be simple enough. Graded cotton tick, I have access to this, double (turn inside out) for ultimate protection tick, sew together, add elastic to hold in place tick, done. Fantastic skilled staff, to make it, tick," he added.
The masks where made within a week from cloth donated by Dugdale bros of Huddersfield which were hand cut by Scott, these were then sewn at home by his staff who kindly donated their time for the cause and hand delivered to Asda.
Since then, they have doubled the order and make more masks for Asda, carers, hotels, housing and NHS staff.
