You may recall in our latest edition, we ran a feature about Chris Madeley, the creator and author of childrens books, Cones.
To help keep the children entertained whilst working at home, Chris and Keith Madeley have created a competition for the little ones.
It is time to get the crayons out… or paints, pencils, pens…
The team are delighted to provide free colouring sheets of The Cones. Each Cone is in a separate PDF page which you can download by simply clicking on the images on the website www.theconesbooks.co.uk.
Each sheet includes a colour version of the character as a guide for young artists to follow. Don’t worry! The Cones won’t mind if you don’t have the same colours in pens, paint, pencils or crayons.
And… welcome to our first Cones competition!
Who can enter?
The artist must be 8 years of age or under.
What to do
It is really simple, on the Cones website, click on one or more of the Cones characters shown. That will open a PDF version. Print that sheet. Colour it in with whatever medium you like; crayon, paint, pen, pencil etc.
How to enter
Submit a photo or scan of the coloured Cones character to www.facebook.com/theconesbooks/ or email to colouring@theconesbooks.co.uk with the heading Cones in Colour 2020. Don’t forget to have the artists name and age clearly written on the artwork. If your submission makes the shortlist, we’ll be in touch with further details after the competition closes.
The prizes!
There will be 10 winners chosen by the judges from the best entries. Each winner shall receive two free copies of a Cones book signed by the author. Each winner can choose the two titles they would like to receive. The winning entries will be displayed at theconesbooks.co.uk.
The rules… the short version
Entries for the competition must be received by us submitted to the Facebook page or by email no later than 5.00 pm on 31st May 2020.
When taking a photo of the completed artwork to post on our Facebook page or to email to us, please make sure you use natural lighting.
The team aim to inform all winners within 21 days of the closing date.
All entrants must be 8 years old or under and should have the permission of a parent or guardian to enter.
The rules… the boring version… known as the full terms and conditions may be seen on the Cones website.
