Newport Land and Law is supporting young talent with the launch of an internship programme for young lawyers and a Kickstart scheme for administrative roles.
The first intern is 20-year-old law student Georgia Beckett from Wakefield. She is studying law at the University of Sheffield and will graduate next year. The firm plans to grow the internship programme to develop the talent of young people over the next five years.
Commenting on the talent programme, Anna Newport, founder and director said: “It’s important to attract and nurture the next generation of talent in the legal industry. Our aim is for our talent programme to support a diverse range of young people into promising legal careers. It’s about giving them the skills and confidence they need to progress in a rapidly changing industry.”
Newport Land and Law is recruiting a junior administrator and communications officer under the Kickstart scheme.
The Wakefield-based firm recently announced it had moved to larger offices and is recruiting to grow its team as the property market booms.
The firm is also expanding its consultancy offer, allowing it to support experienced self-employed lawyers with the backing of an experienced team. Newport Land and Law believe it is a model that will help them provide businesses and individuals with access to expert advice while offering value for money.
