New senior partner for Eaton Smith Solicitors

Eaton Smith has announced that Ben Cooper, Partner and Head of the Private Client team, was appointed to the role of Senior Partner on 1st April 2020.

Ben is well-known in the local area, having spent nearly 40 years practising law and advising many local businesses and individuals. He has been involved in company and commercial work as well as inheritance tax planning and private client work. Ben has extensive knowledge of tax matters, particularly on issues relating to inheritance tax planning, including trusts and settlement planning and the preparation of Wills. He specialises in complex estate planning matters. His unique expertise in both company and commercial law and tax planning means that he has supported a wide range of clients at Eaton Smith. As Senior Partner, Ben will continue to work with the management board to drive the firm forward.

Former Senior Partner, Mike Webb, retired on 31st March after over forty years with the firm. Mike became a Partner at Eaton Smith in 1985 and specialised in matrimonial property disputes. During his career he acted for many high profile, big value divorces and separations as well as litigating in the field of inheritance, cohabitation and estate disputes. The team at Eaton Smith would like to wish Mike all the best for his retirement.
