Yorkshire-based off-site manufacturing specialist, Thurston Group, has announced the appointment of a new production director in a move set to boost the company’s delivery of efficiency-focused operations and high-quality product output across all of its sites across the North of England.
Dan Pollard joins the firm bringing with him over 25 years of experience working in the modular manufacturing industry, having managed complex, large-scale modular construction projects, across the world, from the UAE to Armenia, as well as the UK and Ireland.
In his new role, Dan is taking full ownership of Thurston’s manufacturing facilities to drive efficiency and elevate the quality of the firm’s modular solutions, which include everything from storage for construction sites, to multi-story buildings for schools.
He will be instrumental in championing continuous improvement across the board and advancing the company’s already high production standards while scaling its capabilities beyond Thurston’s four manufacturing sites in Yorkshire.
Dan began his career on the production floor as a supervisor, giving him a hands-on understanding of modular manufacturing that has shaped his strategic approach to operational excellence. His qualifications include a Six Sigma Black Belt in manufacturing and quality, a master’s degree in global business strategy, and a master’s degree in construction project management.

I’ll be working work with the executive leadership team to drive operational excellence in the business, by building on the ongoing efforts to bring our production capabilities to the next level through modernisation and upscaling.

My global experience in the modular construction industry will support the continued scaling of our operations, enhancing both our manufacturing capabilities and the solutions we deliver across a wide range of sectors.”
