This summer, The Hepworth Wakefield will partner for a second year running with Modern Shows® on their only pop-up event in the North.
Held in The Hepworth Wakefield’s converted mill space, Midcentury Modern will provide visitors with the perfect opportunity to see & buy the best collectible British, Scandinavian, European and American vintage furniture and design items for the modern home.
Featuring a large variety of dealers, there will be a diverse range of mid-century furniture, ceramics, glass, jewellery, art and posters for sale. There will also be an assortment of original pieces by Eames, Jacbosen, Sarpaneva and Wegner, that were all designed in the time in which Barbara Hepworth was working. Last year, the two-day event attracted 6,000 Midcentury design enthusiasts visit The Hepworth Wakefield from across the UK.
Commenting on the success of 2018’s event, Lucy Ryder-Richardson, co-founder of Modern Shows® established in 2002, says: “We are pleased to continue building a strong base in the North for our Midcentury Modern® show, bringing our vintage interiors event to Yorkshire for a second time following the enormous success at The Hepworth Wakefield in 2018.
Judging from the dealers who have already signed up we know visitors across the weekend will be even more captivated by the vast array of stunning items available for sale and maybe even learn a little bit more from our brilliant experts about the curated collection of Midcentury on display.”
