The Mid Yorkshire Chamber has postponed Kirklees Business Conference due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The event was scheduled to take place at the John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday 18 March 2020.

Martin Hathaway, managing director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber, said: “In light of the evolving situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have taken the very difficult, but responsible decision to postpone Kirklees Business Conference.

“We’re sure everyone will appreciate that we felt it would be an unnecessary risk to the health and wellbeing of our staff, members, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and the wider local community for the event to go ahead. We are all hopeful that normal business can resume as soon as possible. We remain committed to helping and promoting local businesses, patrons and members through our website and social media platforms.”

Arrangements for the re-scheduling of the Kirklees Business Conference are now taking place. Mid Yorkshire Chamber will continue to follow guidance from the government, British Chambers of Commerce and official bodies.
