A MasterChef is serving up a “taste of Yorkshire” at an exclusive pop-up restaurant event.
Executive Chef at The Hepworth and MasterChef finalist Chris Hale, has designed a one-off seasonal tasting menu, with carefully paired wines for each of the five courses which he will showcase at The Hepworth Wakefield.
Mr Hale, who lives in Wakefield City Centre, took over The Hepworth Café late last year, which is based inside The Hepworth gallery, alongside Leeds-based coffee shop House of Koko.
He said: “Since I appeared on MasterChef I’ve loved travelling the world doing Pop-Up restaurants and I am proud to be using the best produce Yorkshire has to offer this season for this unique fine dining experience.
“I can’t wait to showcase my food art inside such an atmospheric and relaxed setting.”
The evening will begin with canapes from 7pm, consisting of: Oyster with Beef & Horseradish Jelly, Full English Breakfast scotch egg, Beetroot, goats cheese & walnut crostini.
Followed by the five-course tasting menu of: Fermented blood orange, whipped ricotta, walnut butter and raddiccio salad, Razorclams, fennel & thyme, Wild mushroom risotto, venison & wild garlic pesto,‘Rhubarb & Custard’ and Doughnut cheeseboard.
The 31-year-old entrepreneur also runs Pop Up North catering company which caters for events across the UK as well as managing the kitchen at Blenheim House in Batley.
The Pop-Up Restaurant takes place on Saturday March 17 at 7pm at The Hepworth Wakefield. Tickets cost £45 / Members £40.50. Wine pairing is an additional £20 for 5 glasses of wine.
