Matt Jameson, best known for being half of Married at First Sight’s first same sex couple, is joining the cast of a new British comedy which sheds light on the challenges of the menopause.

Hot Flash tells the story of an accidental entrepreneur who triumphs despite imposter syndrome, brutal menopause symptoms, and the challenges of being a forty plus single mum. Matt will play the role of bank manager in a scene which highlights the impact menopause has on women’s confidence when making financial decisions and chasing their dreams.

Since building his public profile in MAFS, which helped Channel 4 achieve its biggest ever streaming record, Matt’s been in demand as a presenter, brand ambassador, and celebrant. He’s also a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, holding a leadership position at the LGBTQ+ charity Out Together.”

He said: “A lot of people don’t realise I’m a trained actor. I’m so excited to revisit this side of my career, represent Yorkshire, and help champion the many people who are navigating the challenges of menopause. Inclusion is something I’m hugely passionate about, and Hot Flash sends a powerful signal to anyone feeling like they’re the only one struggling that they’re not alone and should keep pursuing their dreams.”

Hot Flash’s writer and producer is Jan Birley, who lives on the East Coast of Yorkshire. She said: “Matt and Hot Flash are a match made in heaven! We love how Matt uses his platform to help people who may feel isolated or different to build their self-esteem and confidence. We’re also both quintessentially Yorkshire, and Matt’s huge following is made up of exactly the kind of people who’ll love our film.”

Hot Flash will shoot in Yorkshire from early 2026.
