Marketing Consultancy kicks off new decade with a new recruit

Leeds-based marketing consultancy The Marketing Optimist has appointed its second marketing executive in 12 months as part of its projected plans for growth.

Discovering her creative flair whilst working as a barista but now equipped with strong content creation and social media management skills, Sophie Fryett becomes the latest talented addition to The Marketing Optimist’s rapidly growing team.

Prior to joining, Sophie spent time working in a multi-skilled role for a start-up IT Managed Services Provider in Leeds. Wearing both a marketing and PA hat, Sophie was responsible for the design and delivery of all marketing campaigns including social media content, e-shots and newsletters, as well as the day to day admin of the business and managing client and partner relationships.

In addition to her marketing skills, Sophie is also skilled in creative writing, holding a 2:1 Degree in English Literature and a portfolio of online qualifications, which she took upon herself to complete.

In her new role, Sophie will be responsible for a range of services including social media management, blogging and Search Engine Optimisation for a variety of clients. She will focus predominantly on creating social content that engages both existing and new audiences, with the aim of growing clients’ businesses and increasing customer retention.

Since founding in 2016, The Marketing Optimist has worked with over 120 businesses, offering support with website development, content writing, PR, social media, digital marketing strategy and paid advertising.

Sophie’s appointment will allow for the company to expand and further develop its offering to clients and enable the business to achieve its ambitious growth targets for 2020.

Commenting on her appointment Sophie said: “I am over the moon to be joining such a friendly yet professional agency. Personal development is a huge thing for me, so knowing I have the chance to learn from someone with so much industry experience is exciting.

“Richard found me by chance after coming across a post I put out on LinkedIn. It’s ironic really considering how Richard and the rest of the team regularly promote the power of social media to their clients.”

I spotted Sophie’s post on LinkedIn just before Christmas saying she was searching for a new role due to redundancy. We spoke that day and a week later following a full interview and a test day with us in the office, I offered her the role. I was so impressed with her skills and enthusiasm.
