Yorkshire estate agent Manning Stainton has raised over £16,600 for Macmillan Cancer Support in one month, thanks to different fundraising initiatives.
Staff from the estate agent teamed up to hold various events in September to raise money for the cancer charity, including a corporate golf day held at Moor Allerton Golf Club, which raised over £15,000, and a coffee morning held across all of its 19 branches, which raised more than £1,600. Many people went along to the estate agent’s branches to donate and take part in the activities.
Manning Stainton has supported Macmillan Cancer Support in West Yorkshire since 2012. Becci Shanks, Macmillan’s relationship fundraising manager in Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted with the incredible amount raised thanks to a tremendous collective effort from staff across Manning Stainton branches. The company’s drive to raise funds through various activities recently, and over the past decade, is incredibly humbling. What’s more, their pledge to raise even more money across the next four years is both exciting and inspiring. All money raised will go such a long way in helping Macmillan do whatever it takes for people living with cancer, especially during what are difficult times considering the cost of living crisis.”
Mark Manning, managing director of Manning Stainton, added: “I’m proud of the whole team for pulling together and making this happen for a charity that’s so dear to so many of us. We’ve been supporting Macmillan for the past 10 years, because we are so grateful for the invaluable clinical and emotional support they offer to people living with cancer. This year we’ve pledged to donate £60,000 to the charity over the next four years, and looking at what we’ve achieved just in September, we should be able to smash this.”
