Lockdown. Is there an end in sight?

We are fast approaching our 9th week of lockdown, with still no real end to it in sight and I know many businesses are struggling, I don't think any of us thought it would go on so long.

The team at TopicUK have been busier than ever, trying to do all we can to help our partners at this difficult time, particularly on here, our website and across our social media channels.

Am delighted to announce that both CityFibre and Ad:Venture have both extended their partnership with us and we are looking forward to our continued working relationship.

Our latest edition which features James Mason, Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive on the cover, will publish on 29th May and we hope that enough outlets will open to allow us to print and distribute, albeit slightly later. Welcome to Yorkshire are continuing to promote our wonderful county on social media, I'm sure that once lockdown is over, our beautiful coastal resorts such as Scarborough and Whitby (pictured) and country towns and villages will be ready to welcome everyone back. We are waiting to review the beautiful Middlethorpe Hall. This was scheduled for the end of March, but lockdown prevented it, so hopefully we can do this very soon.

This edition is our partner edition and we are featuring many of them as they have continued to work during these difficult times. We also have a number of articles featuring local actors and authors that I hope you find interesting. Yorkshire really does have an abundance of talent.

Our new Yorkshire Businesswoman website www.yorkshirebusinesswoman.co.uk is going from strength to strength and we welcome a number of new guest columnists. I'm sure you will be delighted to learn for example that TV hairdresser and stylist to the stars, Andrew Barton, has joined our team and he will be sharing expert tips on how to look after our hair, a subject many ladies (and men) will certainly be interested in with the possibility of another 6 weeks before hair salons reopen!

Do continue to send us your news, send us suggestions of what articles you would like us to feature and generally what we can do to further promote businesses across Yorkshire.
