Vine Hotels, a national hotel owner, operator and management company headquartered in Sheffield, has today announced a multi-million-pound investment in its city centre Cutlers Hotel. The company already operates four hotels in the city, Double Tree by Hilton Sheffield Park, Kenwood Hall Hotel & Spa, Mosborough Hall Hotel and Cutlers Hotel, along with the renowned Whirlowbrook Hall and The Old Rectory events venues.
The investment is to transform the dated hotel into an “all-suite” hotel comprising 27 luxury suites each with a comfortable lounge, one or two ensuite bedrooms and their own private kitchen. This will make the hotel ideal for longer stay visitors and guests whether in the city on business, a longer-term assignment or just enjoying the city’s vibrant sporting, cultural and nighttime options.
Garin Davies, the group CEO, commented: “There is a clear demand for this type of accommodation in Sheffield. Indeed, our city is well behind other regional destinations in providing this much sought-after type of accommodation, delivered in a high quality, professionally managed environment. The very central setting of Cutlers Hotel makes it an ideal location for an all-suite hotel, with visitors to Sheffield able to enjoy the wide range of bars, restaurants, theatres, and retail options right on the doorstep.
“This type of accommodation also typically brings higher spending visitors to the city, and it’s anticipated there will be a boost to the city’s economy. Not only with this significant inward investment but also with the material secondary spend in the cities retail and leisure businesses.”
The intention is to submit a planning application for the works in August 2023 with a start on site later in the year and a circa 12 months build programme.
