Shanika Varga, Solicitor at Stowe Family Law LLP (Stowe) in Leeds, is a finalist in the Women in Law 2020 awards in the Rising Star - private practice lawyer of the year category.
In its inaugural year, the Women in Law Awards will honour the achievements and innovations of women across all areas of legal practice.
The Rising Star category recognises legal excellence, innovation, leadership potential and client satisfaction along with a demonstrable contribution to corporate social responsibility.
Regional Director - Yorkshire at Stowe, Rachel Roberts said: “I am delighted for Shanika on this well-deserved nomination. It is a fantastic achievement and one that reflects the hard work and commitment that Shanika shows not just to her clients but to her colleagues and the wider family law industry.
Solicitor, Shanika said:“ I am honoured to have been shortlisted for Rising Star at the inaugural Women in Law awards and take my place amongst this group of inspirational women.”
She continues: “ I believe in a proactive rather than reactive approach to wellbeing, and I am committed to driving that change.
Through my work setting up Leeds Junior Family Lawyers and as a Director of the Leeds Law Society, I am raising the importance of wellbeing for family lawyers and tackling mental health awareness in the sector.”
