The NHS sustainability day of action, usually held at the end of March, was established in 2013, incorporating an NHS national day of action each year. Since its inception, the campaign has gone from strength into strength, recognising and sharing sustainable practices across the health sector through events, professional networks, publications and national awards.

Georgia Halston of B2B marketing agency, Halston Marketing and Nathan Swinson-Bullough of wide-format print firm Imageco have come together to form the NHS Sustainability Partnerships Limited, an umbrella brand that aims to encompass all events, awards, reports and the day of action itself, pushing the initiative into a new era of sustainability.

Former owner and founder of the NHS Sustainability Day Scott Buckler had this to say: “The NHS sustainability day has grown dramatically since our first launch in 2013 and has now become very important to the hundreds of trusts in our network. I wanted to ensure I passed the company onto people who value sustainability as much as me and would continue to grow the initiative.”

Nathan Swinson-Bullough, who's wide format print firm holds sustainability as a core value added: “Sustainability is incredibly important, and we consider this in every we do at Imageco, from the ink, packaging and materials to choosing to use logistics providers that offer carbon-neutral delivery. The option to acquire the NHS sustainability initiative was a no-brainer as it reflects our values and offers so many amazing opportunities and allows us to help the NHS reduce its environmental impact.”

And Georgia Halston who sees a bright future for the company explains: “The most exciting part about the initiative is that there aren’t any limitations on what we can do. Working with over 150 NHS trusts, the company already has a bustling schedule of events and content starting in the new year with gold-tier sponsors waiting to launch with the new brand.
