Members of Leeds Amateur Operatic Society (LAOS) were surprised by a visit from Strictly Come Dancing stars, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, whilst rehearsing for their up-coming show CATS, which is set to run at Leeds Grand Theatre from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 April.
The stars of Tango Moderno passed on their good wishes and told LAOS members to “keep dancing” when they dropped in on the amateur’s dress rehearsal over the weekend.
Founded in 1890, LAOS has more than 100 members who perform two shows a year at both Leeds Grand Theatre and West Yorkshire Playhouse. Having recently staged The Full Monty, Hairspray and Aspects of Love (amongst others), LAOS will present an all new staging of Andrew LLoyd Webber’s classic CATS when they take to the Grand’s stage tomorrow. With breath-taking choreography and an amazing score that includes one of the most renowned musical numbers of all time – ‘Memory’ – CATS is a magical and unmissable show for all the family.
LAOS production of CATS is at Leeds Grand Theatre from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 April 2018.
