Leeds agency provides pro bono support for Christmas charity single
Josh Gudgeon, founder of content creation agency Get Your Media, has created the video for Rate My Takeaway’s Danny Malin’s Christmas charity single, as the YouTube sensation takes on the likes of Adele, Abba, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, and even Shakin’ Stevens, for the coveted Christmas number one spot.
Danny, who has amassed over 50 million views and 448,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, approached Josh after seeing his video production work on his personal YouTube channel. He asked Josh, who is also the co-host of the BreakingBread podcast, to deliver a music video for his debut single, which was released today (3 December).
Santa’s Takeaway, which is a fun upbeat celebration of all things food and Christmas, has been produced by platinum selling producer Toddla T and co-written by award-winning songwriter Jin Jin, who has written songs for Little Mix, Jess Glynne, David Guetta and Joel Corey.
All proceeds from Danny’s first single are going to the Trussell Trust, which works to end the need for food banks in the UK, and MIND, which provides help and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
The video, which Josh and his team shot around Leeds, features Danny’s iconic portable table and chair. It’s Josh’s second foray into producing a Christmas single video, after he worked with professional competitive eater and YouTuber, BeardMeatsFood in 2020 on his Garlic Bread (I think I’m in love) song.
Josh said: “It was a huge privilege to be asked by Danny to support him with his quest to become the Christmas number one and help raise money for two great charities. Danny was great fun to work with. I hope lots of people buy the single and help make a difference to those experiencing mental health problems and for individuals and families who rely on food banks, two issues which have been hugely impacted by the pandemic.”
Danny said: “Filming with Josh and the crew was absolutely brilliant. I put a lot on Josh and asked him to do a lot in a short space of time and he came through better than I expected. I cannot thank Get Your Media, they really did me proud; I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Get Your Media works with a number of brands including NorthEdge, Short Term Vehicles and Josh Warrington. It has its own video and podcast studios which allow brands and individuals to create and broadcast their own content, which is professionally produced by the experienced team.
