Knight Frank brokers new letting at iconic Leeds building
The Leeds office of global property consultancy Knight Frank has brokered one of the most significant office deals in Leeds in the past year with the letting of 12,459 sq ft of space at Broad Gate in the heart of the city.
Emovis, a global expert in toll-based mobility solutions operating across Europe and America, has signed a 10-year lease with a five-year break.
Victoria Harris, office agency associate with Knight Frank in Leeds, who advised Emovis, commented: “This is a very important deal, underlining the quality of Broad Gate. Emovis have taken part of the fifth floor of this very special building.”
The 300,000 sq ft flagship mixed-use development comprises spectacular Grade A office space and an exclusive suite of penthouse offices, together with four prime retail units.
Victoria explained: “Broad Gate is one of the finest office developments in Yorkshire.
The excellent location, overlooking The Headrow, has all the benefits of the city centre on its doorstep. The recent transformation of this historic building has provided a unique opportunity to take up some of the most remarkable space in the city centre.
“There’s no doubt that Emovis are ideally suited to their new home, with their flourishing business perfectly aligned to the quality and prestige of Broad Gate. I am confident Emovis will be very happy here, as their business continues to expand.”
Raza Bashir of Emovis commented: “Broad Gate offers a high-quality, modern workspace in a prime city centre location, with excellent amenities and a professional environment that supports both our team and future growth. The move reflects our long-term commitment to investing in the region and building a strong presence in Leeds.
“With this strategic step, Emovis moves into a new phase of growth, innovation and operational enhancement in the United Kingdom. Broad Gate thus becomes an environment that fosters collaboration, efficiency, and employee well-being, laying the foundation for the company’s future development in the region.”
He added: “Knight Frank have been instrumental in helping us to secure the right space for our team. Their professionalism, market insight and proactive support throughout the process made the experience seamless. We are grateful for their guidance and would highly recommend them to any business looking for commercial property expertise. I’d like to give a big shoutout to Victoria Harris, who has been there to support us with a smile.”
Hays Recruitment, the previous occupiers of the suite where Emovis will be based, have relocated elsewhere within Broad Gate. The company moved into Broad Gate in June 2019.
Victoria commented: “It is a resounding endorsement of Broad Gate that Hays have found a solution to move within the building to meet their long-term needs and extend their occupancy with a new lease contract.”
Other high-quality occupiers in this prestigious building include the Yorkshire Building Society, Orega, Colliers, Ramboll Environ and Kaplan.
Broad Gate was formerly the home of Lewis’s, the first department store in Leeds, which was built in 1932, and then Allders.
Knight Frank and Colliers are joint letting agents on Broad Gate.
