Identity Consult picks up a wave of projects with local authorities

Award winning, independent development and construction consultancy Identity Consult (IC) has been appointed to manage over £250 million worth of projects for local authorities in what has become a record-breaking year for the company.

With offices located in Sunderland, York, Preston and Salford, IC has seen unprecedented growth, with local authority projects now constituting over 25% of its revenue. This reflects a significant doubling of its presence in the sector compared to the previous year.

Pete Johnson is senior director said: “We are thrilled to see growth in our work in this sector, collaborating with local authorities to realise ambitious projects.

“Working with local authorities, particularly when they are given funding for capital projects in recent years, allows us to work on a range of exciting projects, with us delivering everything from homeless accommodation, through new commercial space, cinemas and leisure centres, and even penguin themed adventure golf courses. These are also projects that make a real difference to these areas, generating jobs and encourage investment in the local area.

The diverse range of projects includes a substantial £50 million undertaking with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, a notable venture in Rochdale, and a key regeneration project in Ashington for Northumberland County Council. This substantial endeavour will result in the creation of a events and activity centre and transformative public realm works, contributing to the enhancement of Ashington's community and cultural landscape.

Pete continued: “We’re really looking forward to getting our teeth into these projects and enhancing our public sector. We are excited to leverage our expertise, propel these initiatives forward, and see them come to fruition."
