Huddersfield Business School, part of The University of Huddersfield, has selected Yorkshire-based agency, Wild PR, to drive PR for their government-backed 12-week management programme, designed to support senior managers of small and medium-sized enterprises looking to grow and develop as a business.
Huddersfield Business School delivered their first Help to Grow (Management) programme at the end of April 2022, where it welcomed its first cohort of business owners and managers looking to improve their business performance and resilience. In October 2022, the university opened its doors for the second cohort.
Businesses taking part in the university’s second cohort include Valuechain Technology Limited, Beanie Media, Skye Facilities Ltd, Actaccom Ltd, Boss Training Ltd, Little Lotus Ltd, My Management Accountant, Monty Miracle, Railcom Solutions Ltd, Heat Pump Installers UK, Lu’s Place, Pennine HR, Advanced Mechanical Projects Ltd, 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, Media Performance, and Macs Truck Sales Ltd.
The majority of businesses are located within the Huddersfield area, with some travelling from Warrington, Brighouse, Bradford, and Wetherby.
The objective for PR and communications specialists Wild PR is to drive brand awareness of the course and increase applications for the new round of the programme, which commences in January 2023.
Wild PR works with clients across a number of sectors but predominantly in the e-commerce, professional services and manufacturing industries, with their client portfolio consisting of Specialist Glass Products, BPI Auctions, The Kid Collective, Envirovue, and Heald, among others. The strategic agency specialises in traditional and digital PR, social media and SEO-focused content creation to tell their client’s stories, raise brand profile and increase visibility.
The Help to Grow programme is a £520 million scheme and is 90% funded by the government and aims to educate participants in leadership, innovation, digital adoption, employee engagement, marketing, responsible business, and financial management.
Commenting on the appointment, founder and managing director of Wild PR, Katrina Cliffe, said: “As a Yorkshire-based agency we’re really passionate about supporting the growth of our hometown, Huddersfield. With enriching communities and organisations being at the core of the University of Huddersfield’s values, our partnership with the Business School’s Help to Grow programme aligns perfectly with us as an agency.
“At Wild, we’re also really proud to employ some University of Huddersfield alumni. Investing in local talent and working with organisations accomplishing the same is really exciting to us.”
Liam Bunce, marketing and recruitment manager at Huddersfield Business School commented on the appointment: “We are delighted to be working with Wild PR to promote our 12-week, government-backed Help to Grow programme for SMEs in our region. Over 30 SME leaders have joined Help to Grow since we started delivering the programme earlier this year. With ambitious plans to deliver Help to Grow to more SMEs next year, we recently began looking for a PR specialist to come and work with us.
“Wild impressed us with their creative proposals and knowledge of the local business community. We look forward to a successful partnership promoting Help to Grow to businesses in Kirklees, Calderdale, Wakefield and beyond.”
