How businesses can leverage apprenticeships to build their future beyond COVID

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2021, the York & North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Growth Hub invite you to attend a free webinar event to learn how businesses, both small and large, can benefit from apprenticeships and help them build their future. As we look to recover from the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, apprenticeships will be more important than they’ve ever been.

Hosted by Bev Trees, Skills and Enterprise Officer at the York & North Yorkshire LEP, Bev will introduce an expert range of speakers.

Hear from:

Victoria Dixon, Employer Relations Manager from the Education and Skills Funding Authority who will explain how apprenticeships work as part of a skills landscape that also includes traineeships and Kickstart. She will also discuss what incentives are available for businesses looking to employ apprentices.

Sophie Gray, Apprenticeship Lead for Aviva, will then talk about their experience of apprenticeships as a large employer. Aviva is an organisation who have embraced apprenticeships and adopted 40 different programmes. Spread across 14 locations in the UK, Aviva have sites in York and Leeds and are proud to support NAW 2021.

Danny MacFarlane, MD of Ellis Patents, a North Yorkshire SME and global manufacturer and provider of cable cleats, will then share how apprenticeships have and continue to benefit their business.

To finish, we will host a Q and A session to answer all your questions and all attendees will be signposted to an up to date, practical Apprenticeships Toolkit developed by the LEP to support SMEs with apprenticeships.
