Bellway Homes has bucked the trend associated with the new build versus existing homes argument by putting a four-bedroom detached property on sale at its Clifford Gardens development in Skipton for less than any other similar home in the North Yorkshire town.

As well as the price point, the buyers of these homes will benefit from cheaper running costs than an older home. According to the Office for National Statistics, the median Energy Performance Certificate rating for new homes is now band B, score 84, compared to a much lower figure for older properties. This translates directly into lower energy bills for new build home owners.

In addition, all newly built Bellway homes include an array of energy-saving features, such as solar PV panels, EV car chargers, Smart thermostats and increased insulation - all of which help cut the costs of running a home even further.

Melanie Smith, sales director said: “Many people assume that new build homes are significantly more expensive than existing housing stock. Here in Skipton, we’re delighted to be able to offer a brand-new family home, with all the economic and green benefits it brings, at a price below anything similarly sized on the market.”

The Addingham is a modern family home that provides spacious living over two floors. It features three double bedrooms, a fourth single bedroom, an integrated garage, a large living room and open plan kitchen and dining area complete with French doors that open onto an enclosed rear garden.

Bellway’s Clifford Gardens development features a strong mix of different home types and sizes, including two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes.
