Homeless charity and dental non-profit enter joint partnership
Local homeless non-profit, Focus4Hope, have entered into a partnership with Brighouse based dental non-profit The Town Hall Foundation to expand their services and help those most in need across West Yorkshire.
Founded in 2016, Focus4Hope have been a prominent figure in community work throughout the region over the years. Their work involves fundraising events for the local homeless, elderly, and isolated in West Yorkshire, as well as fortnightly outreach events to help the homeless in Leeds city centre.
The Town Hall Foundation is the charitable arm of Brighouse-based private dental practice Town Hall Dental. Their activities including providing emergency dental care for the homeless, providing oral health education in schools and trips to Calais to assist with those impacted by the refugee crisis.
Both organisations have been increasingly active during the pandemic, as many people across Calderdale lost their jobs or were adversely impacted by COVID-19. Focus4Hope have produced packages for NHS workers fighting the virus on the frontlines, as well as the elderly, disabled, vulnerable, delivering almost 200 parcels a week. The Town Hall Foundation have been providing emergency dental care for those who cannot access a dentist, as well as working with the women’s shelter and refugees referred from St Augustine’s community centre.
Due to both working with vulnerable groups, the partnership will allow for referrals between the organisations, helping the homeless access healthcare and providing support for at risk individuals. Rachel Dilley, Founder of the Town Hall Foundation, commented “We’ve worked closely with Focus4Hope for a long time, but now they are part of the Town Hall Group we can combine our resources, help more people and provide a comprehensive service for everyone under our care”.
“Individuals we treat can now work with Focus4Hope to access accommodation and essential services, and the people Focus4Hope get off the street can now come to us for first class, award-winning healthcare”.
Louise Reed, Founder of Focus4Hope, added “It’s a logical step for both of our organisations to officially enter into a partnership. Not only does it provide financial support at such a difficult time for non-profits, it also allows us to expand what we offer and help even more people.”
“We now have a team of over 70 volunteers between us and help hundreds of people every week access essentials like food, housing, and healthcare. This is a huge moment for the most vulnerable across the region”.
