Family-run gourmet sausage brand Heck Food has appointed Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott, as the company looks to further expand its range of vegetarian and vegan products.
Founded five years ago by Debbie and Andrew Keeble, the Bedale-based business now has a turnover of £17.5m and employs 106 people. Its products are stocked in supermarkets Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose, as well as sold from its own online store.
Originally launched with a product range of gourmet pork sausages, Heck Food has since diversified into ranges of chicken burgers, chicken and turkey sausages, sauerkraut, and vegetarian and vegan balls.
York and Leeds-based accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott will provide financial advice and support to help the company further expand its range into vegetarian and vegan soups and broths. Its growth ambitions follow the opening of a new £3.5m production facility in 2017, which created 75 jobs in the region and now produces more than 700 sausages per minute.
