Harry the tiny builder lays a foundation in new home

The Yorkshire division of national homebuilder, Ashberry Homes has not only welcomed the first family to move into its Pilgrim’s Way development in Beverley, but delighted at the sight of possibly the tiniest housebuilder the world has ever seen!

Within days of Laura Dodds and Scott Manterfield moving into their new home, their two-year old son, Harry was gleefully wearing an Ashberry hardhat and directing building operations from the living room window.

“Harry absolutely loves watching the Ashberry builders at work and when we mentioned this to the sales advisors, Cathy, she arranged for him to have his own hardhat the very next day,” said mum, Laura. “The only issue is it’s a real challenge getting him to take it off – even at bedtime!”

The family moved from a smaller home in Beverley; choosing Ashberry’s four-bedroom detached Trillium on the basis it provided more space for their growing family.

“We wanted to stay in Beverley and loved the location of Pilgrim’s Way, the contemporary home style and, of course, the extra space it would give us,” added Laura. “Now that we’re moved and settled in, we’re delighted just how it suits all of our needs perfectly.”

Amanda Thomas, Yorkshire’s sales manager, said: “Our aim isn’t just to build and sell new homes – it’s to create new communities that will quickly become much-cherished parts of the local community where they’re built. Pilgrim’s Way is shaping up perfectly. and it’s lovely to see a young family like Laura, Scott and Harry moving in and loving their new home.”

Being built in a picturesque location off Woodmansey Mile, and just a short walk from Beverley town centre and the Minster, Pilgrim’s Way will comprise 114 two, three and four-bedroom homes once Harry and the Ashberry Homes team finish their building work!
