Harron Homes contributes to foodbanks in Wyke and Keighley

Harron Homes has been contributing to the local community around its West Yorkshire developments during the Coronavirus outbreak by donating to local foodbanks.

Among others, Harron donated £100 of groceries to Wyke Foodbank close to Highfield Manor in Fixby, and the same to the Salvation Army foodbank in Keighley close to its development The Banks in Silsden.

The deliveries included the items most needed by the foodbanks, from tinned and dried food to hygiene products such as toothpaste and deodorant.

Reverend Lucy Wormsley, who accepted the donation on behalf of Wyke Foodbank, said “It’s been really difficult with lockdown; a lot of people have had additional support throughout the pandemic from the government, but that will end at some point and the need will still be there - it’s never been greater.”

“We support people with so much more than food as well - Harron kindly included toiletries in this delivery which are really important and often forgotten. We’re always grateful for donations and this is really generous.”

“Support from local organisations is more important than ever,” added Josh Selfe from the Salvation Army. “We’re so pleased that Harron Homes has committed to supporting its local community in this way.”
