Local Chartered Accountants Wheawill & Sudworth hosted a Halloween Budget seminar for the local business community. Over 100 entrepreneurs and professional advisers gathered at Greenhead Masonic for the event.
W&S Tax Director Matthew Hindle highlighted important new tax rules for business owners looking to sell their companies in the short-term. David Butterworth of W&S welcomed a big boost for capital investment, commenting “The new £1m tax allowance for business growth is great news for local companies looking to innovate and drive forward over the next couple of years”,
Guest presenter Guy Ellison of Investec Wealth & Investment provided an impact matrix for both the UK and global economies based on varying Brexit outcomes. “One thing is for sure, there will be opportunities and risks over coming months for the UK business community” he remarked.
