South Yorkshire based recruitment agency, Glu Recruit has chosen two new charities to support over the next 12 months, as they enter their fifth year of trading. Glu select their charities each year in-line with their birthday celebrations, and are delighted to announce they will be working closely with Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Paces.
Although their annual charity quiz night was unable to be held this year due to covid-19 restrictions, this hasn’t stopped the Rotherham based firm announcing their first significant fundraiser for the two charities.
Between July and September 2020, Glu Recruit will donate a percentage of profits from all recruitment placements in a bid to raise much needed funds for the charities, as well as helping to kick-start the recruitment process for many businesses in the region as they start to get back into their offices following the lock-down period.
Rob Shaw, MD comments: “We like to use our birthday each year to announce our support for a charity close to our hearts, to ensure we are giving something back to the community and doing our bit. We always get our staff involved in the decision making process, and this has resulted in us nominating two charities this year.
“A lot of the team have children and after getting to know the team at Bluebell Wood we all understand the great work they do in the Hospice in what must be such an emotional yet inspiring place to work. We are also keen to support Paces, who support adults and children who have neurological conditions, including one of the children of a member of our team. Both charities are personal to Glu and we can’t wait to start working as a team to help support them.
“We hope to donate a significant sum to these wonderful charities in the Autumn, after which we will hopefully be in a better position to get involved with more active fundraising activities as social distance restrictions are eased further.
“We also want to help businesses in the Sheffield City Region kick-start their recruitment plans again as the economy starts to recover, so we’re hoping the charity element will encourage businesses who haven’t worked with us before to give us a try.”
Rachael Dawes, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Bluebell Wood, comments: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been chosen as one of Glu Recruit’s charities of the year.
“Their support will help us to be there for some of the most vulnerable children and families in our communities at a time when they need our help more than ever.
“We’d like to thank everyone at Glu Recruit for their support and we can’t wait to see your exciting plans for the year ahead!”
Julie Booth, Head of Fundraising at Paces, adds: “We’d like to thank the team at Glu Recruit for choosing Paces as one of their nominated charities. We are so excited to work with such a fabulous group of people and we can’t wait to plan some fun events next year!
“Support from companies like Glu Recruit, means that we are one step closer to building our new school and centre, which will allow us to support three times as many children and adults who are living with neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy.
“Here at Paces, we are passionate about ability, not disability! Having the support of a team who share our passion is incredibly exciting for us all. We are extremely proud to welcome Glu Recruit to #TeamPaces.”
The first fundraising project from Glu Recruit will start on 1st July 2020 and run up to 30th September 2020 when the final amount will be announced and the donations to the two charities will be made.
