Global courier moves to South Kirkby Enterprise Zone
Carter Towler and AWS have successfully negotiated the letting of Unit 4A, Data Drive, South Kirkby Business Park to Deltec International Courier Ltd on behalf of the developer Marshall CPD. Deltec International, who has 10 offices across the UK and operates in over 200 countries worldwide, has signed a new 9 year lease for the 13,600 sq ft depot.
AWS’, Nick Arundel added: “It’s great that Deltec International has chosen to open another branch and we’re sure they will flourish here. The business park is attracting a lot of interest, we have also just agreed the sale of Unit 8 which is 20,000 sq ft and we will be announcing more deals very shortly I’m sure.”
Hazel Cooper of Carter Towler, added: “Despite the challenges brought about by the current COVID-19 situation, Marshall CDP have made excellent progress speculatively developing this business park. We are extremely pleased to see how well the scheme as a whole is progressing. The significant Enterprise Zone financial incentives, coupled with the high quality construction values and great location, are proving to be particularly attractive for companies looking for industrial space in the region.”
As part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, the scheme has been awarded a grant from the Local Growth Fund. The aim of the Enterprise programme is to accelerate development and deliver high quality employment opportunities. Rates relief and grants contributing towards fitting out works are available to new occupiers.
Construction is due to complete mid-January on Phase 2 of the development. Carter Towler and AWS Ltd have been appointed to market the next three units which are now ready for occupation. The properties will be available to buy or let.
Excellent quality and self-contained, these newest available units are 10,000 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft. Each will comprise high-quality warehouse space, large secure yard areas, offices, canteen facilities and car parking. Conveniently located on the new A628 they are just minutes from the A1(M) at Barnsdale Bar and M62 motorway network.
Hazel Cooper added: “Demand for well-appointed warehouse and distribution space in highly accessible locations like is strong across the region and we have already received a number of very promising enquiries about the next units.”
Chris Marshall of Marshall CDP concluded: “We are very grateful to everyone who has pulled together to help make this scheme viable. We have received a grant from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to assist in financing the development costs and we have also been ably supported by the business development team at Wakefield MDC.”
