Freaks of Nature expands into foodservice
Freaks of Nature, the Ossett-based vegan desserts manufacturer has expanded into the foodservice market following the success of their award-winning vegan puds which are currently sold in all major grocery retailers.
By partnering with food service and convenience food marketing specialists Cognosco, Freaks of Nature’s desserts will now be available in restaurants, hotels, pubs, cafes, garden centres and from contract caterers, independent grocers and convenience stores nationwide.
Their foodservice range consists of Chocolate Fudge Hot Pudding, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Bramley Apple Crumble. Using their innovative recipes, these hot puddings are free-from dairy, gluten and eggs and are all produced in Freaks of Nature’s dedicated gluten and dairy-free factory in West Yorkshire.
The great tasting plant-based puddings solve the back-of-house problem of having multiple desserts to cater for diners’ different requirements as they are suitable for 98% of the population.
Delivered frozen, they can simply be heated in the microwave, saving any wastage and making things much simpler for chefs. Freaks of Nature do not compromise on the quality or flavour of their products. With expertly chosen ingredients, crafted to their special recipes, diners won’t be able to tell the difference.
Commercial manager, Tim Higgins says: “Partnering with Cognosco is a hugely exciting development for us as it will empower our customers to simplify their dessert offering and save complexity in the kitchen. We make delicious puddings that everyone can enjoy no matter what their dietary requirement.
“The plant-based market is seeing strong growth as more and more consumers switch their diet to include at least one plant based meal a week. Therefore, it is crucial to be able to offer traditional family favourite desserts that meet all dietary requirements on your menu!”
Hot and cold eat desserts are available in Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrison’s, Waitrose and CO-OP.
