Fitted furniture manufacturer, Daval, has launched a new apprenticeship programme designed to train the next generation in the art of cabinet making.
The company, based in Slaithwaite, has launched its inaugural apprenticeship scheme following a strong year of growth in which it saw demand for its bespoke kitchen and bedroom furniture grow significantly, fuelled by consumers investing in home renovations during lockdown.
Now, to meet demand for it’s made to measure kitchen and bedroom furniture, the 40 year-old manufacturer is looking to recruit new apprentices into the business.
Paul Bodsworth, operations director said: “We’ve had a phenomenally busy year in our factory, fuelled by the pandemic and people wanting to invest in their homes, particularly kitchens and bedrooms.
“Now feels like the right time to launch our first apprenticeship programme to train up the next generation of talent and give them a grounded introduction to cabinet making. We are initially looking to recruit individuals to work towards a Level 2 Furniture CNC Specialist qualification, where they will learn about the set-up, operation and maintenance of CNC machines and learn to cut, plane, shape and sand all types of wood.
“We are also looking to recruit Level 2 Furniture Manufacturing apprentices who will learn about all elements of cabinet making and work closely with the team in our factory to work towards their qualification.”
Daval was founded in 1978 and the company designs and manufactures in-house from its 100,000 square foot factory and design showroom in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield.
