The financial pressure the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract is already under as a charity is great.
The Coronavirus outbreak has added much more pressure as almost overnight their income has dried up. This will have a severe impact on their ability to provide the expert and loving care local families rely on.
We rely on the generosity of the local community for the majority of our funding – without your donations we couldn’t keep the doors open. And now, in these extraordinary times we are anticipating a loss of income of at least £500,000.
Fundraising activities are having to be cancelled or postponed and people are staying at home and out of our shops. Even though these are very difficult times our Clinical Team is determined that, come what may, we must continue to provide the same levels of personal, round-the-clock care for local patients and their families at what is the very worst of times for them.
We cannot do this alone. Will you stand with us and make a donation now to ensure the funds are there, as we look to find extra staff and extra vital equipment to keep care available day and night?
Thank you for your understanding and helping to keep Hospice care available for those in need.
