Core Facility Services has strengthened its IT team with the appointment of cyber security expert Alec Jackson as IT manager.

Alec is an experienced IT manager and financial accountant with a deep knowledge of cloud services and cyber crime prevention.

He will be responsible for the day to day running of Core’s IT division, which supports clients with IT managed services, data backup and security and comprehensive IT infrastructure planning and installation.

Colette Watts, managing director of Core, said: “Alec’s expertise in cyber security will be of huge value to our clients, particularly SMEs who are particularly vulnerable to this type of crime.

“His financial background means that as well as his technical skills he brings with him a thorough understanding of budgets, efficiency and risk management which ties in well with Core’s objectives of managing costs and compliance for clients,” she added.

Alec said: “I am particularly enjoying the strategic elements of the role and have already been involved in some interesting work at luxury Yorkshire hotel Grantley Hall, where we have been implementing state of the art network management systems.

“I am looking forward to supporting clients and helping to develop the IT team here at Core,” he added.

Out of the office, Alec helps out behind the scenes with local amateur theatre groups including Huddersfield Light Opera, Brighouse Theatre and Longwood Amateur Operatics.
