Colourcube Automotive named as finalist for Motor Trader’s ‘Best Bodyshop of the Year’
Huddersfield’s Colourcube Automotive has been selected as one of three national finalists in the prestigious Motor Trader Industry Awards 2024 for the ‘Best Bodyshop (Medium Enterprise)’.
Competing against industry giants, this recognition marks another major achievement for husband and wife team Mike and Liz Mayes who lead their independent repair centre based in Lepton, West Yorkshire.
Founded in 2016, Colourcube Automotive has grown significantly, becoming known for its high standards in accident repairs for cars, vans and light commercial vehicles.
Their nomination for this award comes on the back of sustained success and growth, with the business seeing significant increases in both sales and customer demand over the past year.
Liz Mayes, business development director, said: “Being recognised alongside such large companies in the industry is incredible. We’re especially proud of this achievement as an independent bodyshop competing with some of the biggest names out there.
“Our team of just five people has worked tirelessly to uphold our high standards, and this recognition is as much theirs as it is ours. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our customers and community, whose support has been integral to our success.”
In 2023, Colourcube Automotive introduced several best practice initiatives to improve internal and customer satisfaction. The team gained CARSQA Accreditation for Full Structural Repairs.
Their business strategy, which includes a focus on sustainability and continual staff development, has driven remarkable growth, positioning the company for further success in the coming years.
The company stands out not only for its impressive growth but also for its dedication to creating a unique and personal customer experience.
Colourcube Automotive’s team actively engages in the local community, hosting business networking events in their workshop and participating in local events. They have also developed close relations with local schools to offer work experience opportunities.
The Motor Trader Industry Awards are highly competitive, and Colourcube Automotive’s nomination places them alongside major dealership bodyshops.
Liz added: “We’re absolutely over the moon to be recognised at this level. Our team has been incredible, and we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together. It’s a real honour to stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the industry.”
This is not the first time Colourcube Automotive has received national recognition. The company previously won the ‘Best New Bodyshop’ Award in 2019, and the ‘Best Small Bodyshop’ Award for Bodyshop Magazine in 2023. Locally, they have been recognised with awards, including Huddersfield Town’s Shooting Stars and Eaton Smith Business of the Month.
Colourcube Automotive’s commitment to excellence has earned them a loyal customer base, and they continue to grow and develop, both as a business and as part of the local community.
The Motor Trader Industry Awards ceremony will take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, on November 20, 2024.
