Cloud Nexus transforms UA92's endpoint management system
Cloud migration firm Cloud Nexus has transformed a higher education institution’s IT system to accommodate a full faculty and allow hundreds of students to better utilize Endpoint Manager.
The Leeds-based firm was approached by University Academy 92 in Manchester after they invested in Microsoft 365 and Intune and needed support to overcome the challenge of Endpoint Manager requiring manual operation.
Endpoint Manager is an integrated solution for managing devices and keeping data secure, both in the cloud and on-premises. With students studying both off and on-campus delivering guaranteed security compliance was key to the smooth running of UA92’s internal infrastructure.
Cloud Nexus liaised with the operations team to uncover their exact requirements for operation, before providing the academy with a blueprint for Endpoint Manager.
The team were then able to present UA92 with a fully automated system for deploying new Windows devices at scale. All applications needed by employees and students are now deployed automatically, with zero manual intervention.
Cloud Nexus ensured that the provisioning, configuration management and software updates for all endpoints were fully automated so that the system could work seamlessly, saving on costs and time needed for manual intervention.
Furthermore, every single device now has a best-in-class security and compliance policy, safeguarding students and providing peace of mind to faculty employees.
Scott Riley, founder of Cloud Nexus, said: “UA92 knew exactly what they wanted in a system. Taking the first step of centralising data and devices to Microsoft 365 and Intune is great, but for an IT system operating for so many people, ensuring the right solution to deliver automation is vital and that’s exactly what our blueprint provided.
“Endpoint Manager and Intune are often associated with large enterprise businesses, and whilst they are of great use to these businesses, the high security and automation is fundamental to the smooth running of education establishments.
“With many staff and students continuing to work remotely and hybrid across the country, investing in both cloud and on-premises security is a priority. Decentralising data in work and education establishments means that people have safe and secure access to the resources they need in their roles.”
Daniel Havercroft, digital services and innovation manager at UA92 commented: “Cloud Nexus helped us get Endpoint Manager working brilliantly, which has reduced a large cost for IT and streamlined everything. The service from Ben and the team was fantastic.”
UA92 is just one of many projects for Cloud Nexus, which is experiencing rapid growth. Doubling turnover in 2021, the Microsoft 365 and cloud migration firm completed over 180 individual consultancy projects supporting 125,000 users adopting Microsoft 365.
Scott added: “More businesses are seeing the necessity for cloud migration and Microsoft 365 packages, but it is the implementation of the systems that makes the investment fly. Like all new technology, adoption can have teething problems.
“This is something our Cloud Nexus team minimises by providing a blueprint for implementation as well as being on hand to deliver any additional needs.”
