Closing the year on a high

As we approach the end of 2019 and our last print edition of the year is just starting to distribute, our attention turns to 2020.

I cannot quite believe the year we have had. Mandy Taylor joined us late last year, bonfire night to be exact and has proved to be of real value to the TopicUK team. We have attended and supported many events over the year and as Christmas fast approaches, we haven’t finished yet.

Last week I was delighted to attend the CBI dinner as a guest of Barclays at The University of Leeds and just yesterday, joined the Yorkshire IoD at the inaugural annual lunch partnered with Leeds Community Foundation at the home of Nick Lane-Fox at Bramham House. These followed the wonderful Children of Achievement Awards at Dock Hall earlier this month, of which we are media partners.

Still to come is the National Forward Ladies awards lunch at Dock Hall, where we are once again media partners and the Prince of Wales Hospice Gala dinner at Oulton Hall, which concludes their year of fundraising and sadly our partnership with them. In 2020 we will be supporting Wakefield Hospice who are celebrating their 30th Anniversary as Prince of Wales did this year. Despite being part of the original committee setting up KACCL (Kirklees and Calderdale Charity Christmas Lunch), I will be attending this year with Chadwick Lawrence for the first time.

We have some new exciting features coming up in the New Year with Vauxhall Motors amongst others and I cannot close without mentioning our new App that will launch within the next couple of weeks. You will be able to find full details of this in the magazine and on our website. If you want to know what is going on, in business in Yorkshire, our App is an essential tool.
