Chow Down reveals the NYE Big Bash

Temple Arches’ legendary drink and dining experience is turning up the heat this New Year’s Eve, with a giant get together set to ignite celebrations to see in 2022 in style.

It’s been an incredible season for Chow Down, with the Winter Village giving tens of thousands of guests the chance to celebrate the festive spirit. From its cosy vibes and new areas like Hütte - Chow Down’s central two-storey bar and the beautiful Winter Gardens, to the much fun Curling (the first in Leeds), the winter programme has been filled with so much fun. Award-winning street food and vibrant array of entertainment (from roaming Brass bands, to Norman Jay MBE DJing, to the legendary sellout Drag Brunches, and so much more). The Winter Village is the perfect venue to take things to the next level for a New Year’s Eve party.

The NYE Big Bash will be a fitting tribute to all that has gone before. Expect a champagne reception, midnight entertainment & performances at Temple Arches. The site is owned by the property group CEG and sits in the heart of the Temple District Leeds.ows Industrial Estate,

Quote, Matt Long New Citizens and Chow Down founder says: “How quick has this run gone? Personal highlights have been Norman Jay MBE DJing in the Hutte and seeing our Drag Brunches go from strength to strength. We have had every type of weather thrown at us over the last 8 weeks - we’ve had sun, storms and snow but credit to our amazing team for doing such an incredible job throughout. We also need to make customers know that we are following all government guidance and appreciate that things can change quickly but we are providing a great, outdoor safe option for the New Year celebrations.”

On arrival at the big bash, guests will be greeted with a Champagne reception, before being taken to their reserved tables to kick off the evening. Entertainment will come from electronic superstars, Crazy P, who will take the stage and DJ in Hütte. The build up to the big midnight celebration will see soon to be announced DJ sets with roaming performers bringing that extra sparkle.

The Big Bash will see some returning favourite food traders. Spuds n Bros will be bringing their delicious poutine (Hand Cut chips, cheese curds and slow cooked gravy) alongside the ever winning Nasi Lemak serving up his Malaysian treats (think Rempah Fried Chicken and Sui Mai, hand rolled dumplings). The resident kitchens will be bringing fire and drama, with their smokehouse and BBQ area as Torito and Jimmy Macks cook at Chow Down one last time. The Winter Village has seen their food fly out the serving hatches as they prepared incredible tacos, steaks, smokey brats, hog roast buns and the most instagrammed food of the season, the Festive Fries.

Simon said: “It has been a real pleasure to organise and see the rotating indie street food traders doing so well, still in difficult times and that was one of the main reasons for bringing Chow Down to Leeds.

Our resident kitchens were a trial too and have been a fantastic addition from the summer Chow Down. We got them to serve up some incredible food with the big BBQ from Torito and Jimmy Macks. I have probably eaten too much of the festive fries and Masa fried Chicken tacos.”
