Chester Zoo goes wild for Crazi-Bugz!
The UK’s most visited zoo has teamed up with Aqualand Industries to provide families with the excitement of electric buggies and trucks designed for four to 14-year-olds. The new vehicles are ready for visitors this summer at Chester Zoo.
Every year, two million people come to Chester Zoo to see more than 37,000 animals from all over the world, including elephants, giraffes, orangutans, penguins, Komodo dragons, and Madagascan lemurs.
The zoo has built a dedicated track for the six-wheeled Crazi-Bugz and Adventure-Trukz to enhance the experience for young visitors.
Holmfirth-based Aqualand Industries provided a holistic service from advice on track design to training support, maintenance and finance.
Commenting on the move, Dominic Strange, commercial director at Chester Zoo, said: “Chester Zoo is one of the UK’s most popular visitor destinations, dedicated to creating a world where nature can survive and thrive. We pride ourselves on finding new ways to engage our visitors to keep them coming back time and time again, and the thrill of independent driving in field conservation-style jeeps, even for our youngest guests, is sure to help inspire every conservationist of the future.
“The project was carefully planned with the support of the Aqualand Industries team, and they deliver service around the vehicles using a real partnership approach.”
As a not-for-profit, the zoo ploughs everything into its conservation mission, both here in the UK and around the world. It works with more than 3,000 species globally, including 140 international animal conservation breeding programmes, which are ensuring the survival of species on the brink of extinction.
The charity zoo is set on a 128-acre site in Chester, home to more than 500 species of plants and animals. It also features stunning botanical gardens and five national plant collections, with more than 1,000 species.
Aqualand Industries designs and manufactures the six-wheeled Crazi-Bugz, the exciting Adventure Trukz and the newly launched all-family activity, the Adventurer. All its products are manufactured in the UK at the company’s dedicated R&D and manufacturing facility in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.
Aqualand Industries partners with leisure destinations to help them drive additional revenue. The company offers leasing, full purchase, or a mixture of both to provide operators with the flexibility they need to introduce a range of products. It also provides maintenance and service to its customers for its products.
Carl Byford, general manager of Aqualand Industries, concluded: “It was great to work with the professional team at Chester Zoo to deliver a fantastic project that will provide entertainment and great memories for families for years to come. We approach every project with a commitment to being there when our customers need us and ensuring that our vehicles help to drive revenue and enhance the visitor experience.”
