Caddick Group announces new partnership with Together Housing to deliver a significant £11.5 million residential housing scheme in Sheffield. Upon completion, the development at Ferrars Road will deliver a mix of 93 new affordable homes.

The Ferrars Road project demonstrates how the different companies within the Group – Caddick Land, Caddick Developments and Caddick Construction - work together to take a residential project all the way from sourcing the site to completion of the new homes. Construction is due to commence early in 2021, with the first homes being ready for tenants from 2022.

The scheme, which will comprise 19 two-bedroom houses, 70 three-bedroom houses and four four-bedroom houses, is possible thanks to funding from Homes England. Together Housing was announced as one of the government’s housing agency strategic partners in January 2019, receiving £53 million to help deliver 1,152 additional affordable home starts by March 2022.

The Caddick Land team are working with mixed tenure housing providers to accelerate the delivery of much-needed homes and are actively looking for sites that can accommodate upwards of 50 new homes for projects across the Midlands and the North.

Johnny Caddick of Caddick Group said: “We’re delighted to be working with Together Housing to bring forward this important project, which is set to help so many individuals and families to find their new homes at affordable prices. Working with Together Housing to deliver this scheme demonstrates the breadth of what we offer as a group and the collaboration required for these types of projects.”

“From sourcing the site through Caddick Land, to securing planning permission for the development, we are excited to see this project through to its construction phase, demonstrating the full breadth of quality services on offer with Caddick Group, with the end-to-end offer we have meticulously put in place. Our ability to see sites through from land acquisition through to completion is something that is vital for the success of the single family housing sector, and positions our group to work with a range of partners across the North and Midlands to address the critical housing needs of the nation.”

Kevin Ruth, Deputy Chief Executive for Together Housing, commented: “We’re excited to have teamed up with Caddick Group, whose holistic approach to development aligns with our ambition to tackle the housing crisis by delivering more affordable housing as part of our Strategic Partnership with Homes England.”

Following the collaborative efforts of Caddick Group Companies on the development, the Yorkshire-based Group has now come to an agreement with Together Housing, who will take ownership and management of the site upon completion.

The new homes, designed by Yorkshire architects Watson Battye, will feature traditional architectural exterior elements, and be characterised with energy efficient, modern interiors, underpinned by Caddick’s commitment to quality. The development will also include landscaped open space with ponds and public art. The development is set to be completed by early 2023, with the first homes being ready to welcome new residents in early 2022. Johnson Mowatt supported Caddick Land with the planning application.
