Business sponsors confirmed for charity bike ride
International law firm DWF, property consultancy Carter Jonas and Absolute Commercial Interiors are to sponsor this year’s Yorkshire Pedalthon to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Being staged on Thursday 8 September, the event is the largest charity bike ride for the business community in Yorkshire. Organised by Iconic Cycling Events, the ride is being held in partnership with the Institute of Directors (IoD) Yorkshire and North East.
Now in its seventh year, the Yorkshire Pedalthon has already attracted more than 250 riders from businesses across the region. To date the ride has raised more than £80,000 for regional charities. Cyclists can choose from two routes of 38-miles or 67-miles through the stunning countryside of the Yorkshire Dales.
DWF has a team of 18 – staff, clients and contacts – taking part in the Pedalthon. Jim Speed, head of Leeds real estate, said: “DWF is very proud to be sponsoring the welcome return of the Pedalthon and helping support Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The Pedalthon is a superbly enjoyable cycling event showcasing the magnificence of the Yorkshire countryside.”
This year’s Pedalthon starts and ends at Masham. There will also be food stations along the route which will champion Yorkshire produce. Yorkshire Tea, the Wensleydale Creamery, Toppings Pies, Bothams, Yorkshire Flapjack and Haribos are just some of the Yorkshire producers helping to power the pedals of the riders.
Richard Best, CEO of Iconic Cycling Events, commented: “We are delighted to have the support of Carter Jonas, DWF and Absolute Commercial Interiors. Their support, along with that of our food supporters and the participating cyclists is vital in ensuring we raise as much money as possible for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which provides such an essential service for the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.”
Entry is open to both individuals and corporate teams and costs £60 per rider, £360 per team of 6, £480 per team of 8 or £600 per team of 10.
