Business goes on despite changing times

So much has happened since my last blog in these very fast changing and challenging times.

As we prepare to finalise issue 42, we are as busy as ever but we are working from home and sadly not out and about as much as usual. That hasn't stopped us though, we are focussing on our digital communications with our App, our fortnightly newsletter and now this, our brand newlook website.

I would like to welcome two new partners Gold Rabbit Limited and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park as well as Calderdale Community Foundation who are renewing their partnership for another 12 months. We are looking forward to bringing you all their news.

We enjoyed a lovely evening with Sir Rodney and Lady Walker at the Yorkshire Awards that took place at the Hilton Hotel Leeds recently, where we saw Dr John Sentamu pick up a lifetime achievement award, what an amazing person he is. We also chatted with Barnsley author Milly Johnson who will be featuring in a forthcoming edition.

TopicUK partners Dakota Leeds launched their new cocktail menu and we were delighted to be invited to go along and sample it. We tried several new cocktails, all paired with canape's and all were equally delicious, it won't be long before I am back to sample them again. They will be perfect as the warmer weather arrives on their gorgeous outside terrace.

Last week we celebrated with Wakefield Theatre at their 6th annual gala dinner, which took place at Wakefield Cathedral, followed by a delightful performance at the theatre. Guests enjoyed a two course meal, followed by an auction, before guests made the short walk to the theatre for the show. This concluded with dessert canapes.

Sadly, most things in the diary are now postponed due to the Coronavirus which is a great shame. However, many people are still using social media and staying in touch as much as they can. If we all pull together, we will get through this crisis.

TopicUK have supported SME's for more than 7 years and continue to do so. If you need advice or help, do let us know and we can hopefully put you in touch with the right people. Please also continue to share with us your news PR@topicuk.co.uk

Don't forget, if you haven't done so already, download the TopicUK App from the App Store or from Google Play so you can keep up to date with everything that is going on during these challenging times.

See you next time.
