A Calderdale charity, which supports vulnerable and disadvantaged families with babies has received a funding boost, following a donation from a West Yorkshire housebuilder.
Calderdale Lighthouse has been awarded £955 from Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire as part of its Community Champions initiative.
The charity supports vulnerable families with babies and young children by providing bedding furniture and safety equipment. The Persimmon Homes funding will go towards purchasing new cot mattresses and safety gates for vulnerable families.
Diane Barker, co-founder at Calderdale Lighthouse, said: “We are thrilled that Persimmon Homes has generously gifted us with the donation of £955.
“The donation will enable us to support many more families in the Calderdale area and ensure that no child goes without access to the essentials.”
Simon Whalley, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “Calderdale Lighthouse provides a wonderful support to the community. “
“We have made it really easy to apply for funding, and we urge groups and charities to apply for next month’s donation by completing an online form on the Persimmon Homes website”
The Persimmon Homes Community Champions initiative invites groups and charities to apply for match-funding of up to £1,000.
