The team at a Bradford-based garden centre group is celebrating after reaching the final of three regional business awards.
Yorkshire Garden Centres, owner of Tong, Tingley, Bingley and Otley Garden Centres has been shortlisted in the Community, Sustainability and Medium Business categories of the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards.
Yorkshire Garden Centre's MD, Mark Farnsworth, said: "We are delighted to be recognised in three categories at this year's awards and it's a testament to the efforts of our hard-working team. We are really pleased to be recognised for our efforts in the community; each of our centres hopes to play an active role in all their communities and it's very important to us.
"Like all businesses, we are doing our best to be more and more sustainable and we are pleased with our progress to date. Many of our team have now gone through a carbon literacy training programme and it will be the efforts of our entire team that help us reach our ambitious goals."
In the new Business in the Community award, Yorkshire Garden Centres faces competition from Reckitt, Mattress Online, Go Green Ltd and City Cruises York. Fellow finalists in the Medium Business of the Year are Go Green Ltd, Green Building Renewables, Belzona Polymerics Ltd and Razorblue, and in the Sustainability award, it's Leo Group Ltd, Zenith, Environment Bank and Go Green Ltd.
The team will learn whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony at Headingley Stadium on 22nd November that will be hosted by BBC Look North anchor Amy Garcia.
Now in their 18th year, the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards recognise and reward businesses and the vital role that they play in Yorkshire's economic success.
