Bradford-based ITC targets growth

Bradford founded and based telecommunications company, ITC, is eyeing up further growth in 2026, having marked a milestone year as the official telecommunications provider for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.

ITC, which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year, is an official Bradford 2025 corporate supporter and throughout 2025, the company has provided IT and mobile telecommunication services including internet access across the two Bradford 2025 office headquarters and both landline and mobile packages for the 130-strong City of Culture team.

The award-winning national connectivity and communications provider was founded by managing director Nasar Hussain, who previously worked for a major national telecoms company. He realised there was a gap in the market for a local provider for local businesses and made the leap to set-up his own business in 2006 at just 24 years old.

Reflecting on the year, Nasar said: “I’m a proud Bradfordian, born and raised in the city. I have absolutely seen and felt the positive impact of this UK City of Culture year. Not only has it brought more people to the district, but it has also made Bradford part of the national conversation. We operate nationwide and clients across the country have been excited and interested by the fact we’re based in Bradford, having seen or read lots of positive things about the city this year.”

ITC has since gone from strength-to-strength, growing a strong team, employing and training young, local talent which Bradford – as the UK’s youngest city - has in abundance. Nasar has major plans to harness the success of the UK City of Culture spotlight to grow the company – and is urging other local businesses to do the same.

“Bradford has long been underestimated, but I feel perceptions have changed for the better and the local business community needs to continue to work together to build on this momentum. I’m excited by so much that is coming out of the city, for example, the University of Bradford is leading the way in research on AI and Cyber Security – which I see as major growth opportunities for my business. We have a unique opportunity to attract further inward investment and demonstrate how and why, with our enterprising spirit, young talent and diverse culture – not to mention strategic location – Bradford really is a great place to do business.”

ITC provides telecommunication infrastructure for companies across the UK with a strong-client base in West Yorkshire – offering a range of services with a locally-based, dedicated support team.

Nasar adds: “A personal highlight for me this year was being chosen as one of a handful of local business leaders invited to meet King Charles during his Royal visit in May. Stood there alongside representatives from local giants including Morrisons and Schofield Sweeney – I felt proud to be part of this incredible business network which includes many national brands founded here, which have experienced incredible growth and have chosen to remain in the city. One easy way to support the local economy is for those big brands to choose local suppliers and providers – many of whom have used this year an opportunity to step up in terms of both capacity and ambition.”

Dan Bates, executive director for Bradford 2025 said: “ITC, with Nasar at the helm, is such a fantastic example of a home-grown business which embodies the entrepreneurial, forward-thinking spirit of the city. It’s great to hear that the corporate community – which have been instrumental to the success of this year by showing their support through funds, time and resources, have felt the positive impact and I hope they will continue to reap the benefits for years to come.”
