As we count down to our next edition, which we aim to receive hot off the press on October 31st (a date which is a “hot topic” in politics at the moment and a subject matter I prefer not to touch on) we have been privileged to partner with Katrina Cliffe MCIM, founder of marketing, PR and social media agency KC Communications on the first (and no doubt not last) Huddersfield Business Week.
Katrina wanted to mark her fifth year in business by encouraging local businesses and organisations to showcase their talents and share good practice and knowledge with others, primarily based in Huddersfield however, not exclusive to the town.
I am a particularly proud “Huddersfield born and bred, Yorkshire Lass” and appreciate the many family owned businesses that have stood the test of time and provided employment and opportunities, often in times of recession and adversity. At the official launch event, attended by many of our magazine partners including City Fibre, Ad:Venture and Kirklees College it was fantastic to see two prime examples of this with Simon Bodsworth of Daval Furniture and Claire Paxman of Paxman Scalp Cooling sitting amongst the panel of experts. I took along a bundle of magazines (they are like “gold dust” at the moment, almost all 10k copies were snapped up in a heart beat so praise be we have a great online version too!) and the positive feedback was greatly appreciated.
My work with TopicUK enables me to network across the region, attend some remarkable events and collaborate with businesses and organisations who are forward-thinking, creative, innovative and proud of our great county. No two days are the same and the saying “every day is a school day” is very apt as I feel privileged to learn something new about our diverse and thriving business community, each and every day.
Should you wish to share your business story with me, I would be delighted to hear from you and explore how we may be able to work together effectively, simply drop me a line:
