Where has the year gone?
As I type my Blog from my office at home, I am surrounded by the boxes of tinsel and decorations that have been hoarded over the years. These were dragged out from the loft at 6am this morning, when I suddenly realised that although there are still four weeks to go until “the big day”, my calendar of events and meetings is full to brimming in the countdown to the festive break.
I am determined to continue to “do my bit” for charity, whether it be donating gifts and clothing that can be distributed via The Town Hall Foundation, attending an event organised by one of our many partners across the region or even partaking in the Santa Dash in Pontefract that our charity partner The Prince of Wales Hospice has so expertly organised.
I guess I will need to wear skirts and trousers with a fair bit of elastic around the waistband based on the number of delicious meals on the horizon (a trip to our contributors John Lewis may be wise) and I look forward to meeting up with friends, old and new either at the Forward Ladies Awards, Dakota Leeds ladies lunch, KACCL charity lunch (a nod of appreciation to Chadwick Lawrence for the invite) and many more gatherings across the region.
Although I must confess that TopicUK does give me an amazing social life, there is also a lot of hard work to be done to guarantee that the first publication for 2020 is absolutely outstanding. Behind each edition, there’s a huge amount of time and effort that goes into ensuring that the content is relevant and interesting for our readership, that the features are topical and the businesses that have trusted in us through their continued partnerships, are rewarded and acknowledged accordingly.
Should you wish to have a stock of magazines for your business reception, hotel bedrooms or waiting area please do let me know and we can most certainly arrange a delivery!
