Barnsley Hospice in search of trustees

Barnsley Hospice is searching for passionate and motivated trustees to join its board.

The hospice provides high-quality, compassionate care for people with progressive life-limiting illnesses and their families in Barnsley.

It’s looking for people with experience of chairing a finance committee, audit or income generation, as well as people from other backgrounds who have a passion for supporting the hospice.

Carole Gibbard, Chair of Trustees, said: “We’re hoping to bring on board two trustees who will play a vital role in supporting our charitable aims and ensuring the hospice remains accessible for patients and their families in the borough.

“The volunteer trustee role would suit anyone who is currently employed and looking for some career development, or someone who is recently retired and looking to share their skills and knowledge to further the development of the hospice.”

The new trustees will receive a full induction and ongoing training in the role and will be required to attend six board meetings per year and become a member of one or more sub-board committees.
