Azbil Telstar expands production capacity with move to Birstall
Global pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer Azbil Telstar UK Ltd (Telstar) is relocating from Shaw Cross Business Park, Dewsbury to new premises on Dark Lane, Birstall close to the M62.
The Spanish owned company who has operations in over 100 countries has signed the formal contract for Hawthorne House in a deal negotiated by Carter Towler. The property has high quality offices and a large modern warehouse that will enable Telstar to virtually triple its production capacity.
Commenting on the move, Telstar Director & Country General Manager Neil Street said: “We design and manufacture containment and aseptic Isolator systems for worldwide pharmaceutical, biotech and cell therapy companies. Demand for our specialised equipment from all across the life sciences sector has been increasing for a prolonged period, which has highlighted the need to relocate to new premises with increased production capacity in order to support our global customer base.
“Hawthorne House is an impressive, prominently positioned building with the extra space we need and it is close enough to our previous operation so that we can retain our excellent, highly trained and experienced employees.”
Carter Towler director Josh Holmes added: “Our client is delighted that we have arranged this contract so quickly. There was a lot of interest in this property; it wasn’t on the market for very long. Hawthorne House is an attractive, well-appointed commercial property that will make a very fitting UK HQ for Telstar’s expansion plans.”
Hawthorne House is located on the intersection of Dark Lane and Geldard Road, close to the M621 and M62. It has an expansive reception area, two storey offices, modern meeting areas, and canteen, warehouse and loading bays.
