It’s always a relief when another issue goes off to print. We used to use this time to breathe a little and catch up on other things, but we’re not so lucky these days, we are always straight into another edition and already the pages for the next one are filling fast.
We publish later this week and will start to distribute straight away, so do look out for the TopicUK van delivering 10,000 copies across the region.
My colleague Mandy has been away the last week (back tomorrow) so we’ve not been out and about as much because of deadlines, but that is due to change next week as we head over to our partner Production Park when Chairman Adrian Brooks can show Mandy around, is she in for a treat! We then head over to Leeds for meetings in our new Leeds office at Avenue HQ on East Parade before popping across the road to Tattu, who have invited us to review this beautiful restaurant. We’ll publish that in our August edition.
The highlight of the week will be Royal Ascot Ladies Day at Bibis restaurant on Thursday, if you haven’t got a ticket already, please try, it is going to be an amazing lunch event. I get to wear my lovely hat again that I wore for my daughter’s wedding last week.
Then it will be time to don our glad rags and head to The Grand Theatre for Grease the musical. I was lucky enough to interview the lovely Peter Andre who is starring in some performances as Teen Angel, a couple of weeks ago when we attended the launch at The Leeds City Varieties, you can read that interview in our forthcoming edition.
We’re just working on the programme for the Institute of Directors Director of the Year Awards and once again for the fourth year, TopicUK are a sponsor. We are looking forward to the event at The York Principal and as we know lots of people who are shortlisted, it will be impossible for us to root for a favourite. We will be staying at The Grand Hotel who have asked us to review their beautiful hotel, so looking forward to that.
