A wet summer doesn’t dampen sales for West Yorkshire firm
A wet start to the summer hasn’t dampened sales for a West Yorkshire manufacturer of electric carts and buggies. Aqualand Industries has seen record sales for holiday parks, theme parks, and zoos across the UK and Europe this year.
The Holmfirth-based advanced manufacturer saw sales leap 700% to 441 units in the first half of the year. It helps a wide range of customers, from large operators like Haven to smaller independent glamping sites, create fun family experiences with its child-friendly six-wheeled Crazi-Bugz, Adventure Trukz electric carts, and Adventurer pedal carts.
The company has seen overseas orders increase, with new customers in Denmark, France and Ukraine, despite the export challenges post-Brexit.
Commenting on the growth, Carl Byford, general manager of Aqualand Industries, said: “The poor weather so far this summer has done little to dampen demand for our products. We’ve seen rising interest from across Europe for our electric vehicles and new pedal cart, which is proving to be hugely popular with family-focused venues.
“As we seek to grow our business, I’d like to see a reduction in paperwork for export, which is proving to be an ever-growing overhead. I’m sure a frictionless trading arrangement would further accelerate our growth.”
The firm recently launched a Scandinavian sales team to serve demand from the region. It is also expanding its current premises to increase manufacturing capacity.
Aqualand Industries manufactures all of its products in the UK at its dedicated R&D and manufacturing facility in West Yorkshire. It partners with leisure destinations to help them drive additional revenue and offers leasing, full purchase, or a mixture of both to provide operators with the flexibility they need to introduce a range of products. It also provides maintenance and service to its customers for its products.
